How to play
Pitterlings is a little pixel pet of your own that lives in your browser. Here is everything you can do — the game also shows you the first steps itself, one at a time.
Make your pet
Tap the basket at your door. Start from a dog, a cat, a rabbit, a bear, a panda or a fox, then pick its coat, eyes, ears, tail and markings, and give it a name. You can play straight away, as a foster — no sign-up. The First steps card on your home screen walks you through your first day.
Look after it
Your pet has four needs: food, a wash, play and sleep. Its needs go down slowly while you're away, but never all the way, so come back whenever you like.
Feed — tap Feed, then drag the bowl to your pet's mouth. A bowl costs 2 bones; if you're short, a small free bowl comes every few hours. Wash — rub your pet with your finger, then tap to rinse. Play — a little game cheers it up. Sleep — it wakes up by itself when it has rested; beds and cushions help it rest faster. Tap or rub your pet any time to give it a pat.
Bones
Bones are what you earn and spend. You get them from little games (three rewarded rounds of each game a day, and the game of the day pays double), from walks in the park, from your pet's wishes, from finishing sets in your collection and from leaving a bone at a friend's home. You spend them on food, capsules and new rooms.
Little games
Six games: Treat Catch, Tidy Up, Jump Rope, Which Cup?, Fetch and Park Run. Each round earns stars, bones and treats for your pantry — cookies and herbs, and bread or carrots for three stars.
Capsules and the market
Four capsule machines hold new looks, clothes, furniture and wallpapers and floors. One capsule a day is free. The Market changes every day: trade the treats in your pantry for parts, clothes, furniture and more.
Decorate
Tap Decorate in a room to move furniture, turn it round, put things on the walls and change the wallpaper and floor. Undo takes back one change at a time.
A growing home and family
Add rooms with bones — up to a house of eight. As the home grows, more animals can join the family: a second one with your second room, then one more for every two rooms after that, up to five. Change anyone's look and clothes any time with Change look.
Work, the pantry and wishes
With two in the family, one can go out to work while the other stays home: the kitchen makes cookies and bread, the garden grows herbs and carrots. Your pets also make wishes — a treat, a game, a piece of furniture — and granting one gives bones and brings you closer.
Growing up
Looking after your pet raises its bond level, up to 30. It is a baby at first, a little one from level 10 and grown up from level 20.
The park
Tap 🌳 to take your pet for a walk: tap the grass to walk. You'll meet the pets of players who are in the park at the same time — tap one and say hi. A longer walk cheers your pet up and finds a few treats.
