Pitterlings

Privacy policy

Last updated 1 November 2026.

What we keep

Your account: your link name (also your login), your password and your recovery code in scrambled (hashed) form, your login sessions, and a count of recent wrong passwords (to slow down guessing). Your game: your pets, your house and rooms, what you've collected and made, your bones, your progress and care streak, and your phone's time zone (so friends see your home in its time of day). With other players: your friends and friend requests, stickers, likes, visits and bones left and received, your weekly scores, and reports of rooms. No email, real name, birthday or location. Your birth year is used once to check you are 18 or older and is not stored.

Before you adopt

Your pet is also kept on our server under a random code (not your name), so it isn't lost if you switch browsers. It is removed when you adopt, or after 30 days without a visit.

What others see

Your link shows your home, your pets' names and the stickers left there, only to the people you chose (anyone with the link, friends only, or only you) — change it any time in Settings. A home open to anyone that other players like may be shown to them in Today's rooms; homes can be reported and are then left out. If you allow Visitors at random (Settings), players may drop in on your home without your link. While your home is open to anyone, a picture of your pet in it is kept so your link shows it in chats and posts; it is deleted when you close it. In the park, the people there at the same time see your pet's name, look and where it walks, and its hellos — held in the server's memory only and gone about 15 seconds after you leave. People visiting your home see your pets as they are in your game, who is asleep and who is out at work. Your link name also appears on leaderboards, so don't use your real name.

Notifications

If you turn them on, we keep the address your browser's push service gives for them (up to three phones) and your time zone, to send good news (bones, likes or stickers friends left, a gift at the door) at most once a day, in the daytime. Turn them off in Settings; deleting your account removes them too.

Ads

Optional "watch a video" bonuses are served by Google. Google may use cookies or similar storage to show and measure ads, limit how often you see them and prevent fraud; where the law requires it you are asked first, and you can choose ads that are not personalised. How Google uses this information: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Counts

To see whether the game works, we add up how many times things happen each day (the game opened, a pet adopted, a link shared, a video watched). These are totals for the day only; nothing in them identifies you or your phone.

Our server's log

Like most websites, our server notes each request it gets (the time, what was asked and the network address it came from) to keep the game running and stop abuse. The log is kept for 5 days.

On this phone

The game keeps your pup, your login and your settings (sound, the last capsule machine, how many videos you watched today) in your browser's own storage. We don't use cookies of our own.

Where and how long

Our server is in Japan; the game reaches you through Cloudflare. We keep your account and game until you delete them. A copy of the server is saved every night and kept for 14 days, so something you delete can stay in those copies until they are replaced.

Your choices

Delete your account and pets at any time in Settings — it removes everything we keep about you. Before adopting, "Let your pet go" in Settings clears this phone. For a copy of what we keep about you, or anything else about your data, write to [email protected].

Who it is for

Adults (18+). Not offered in the Republic of Korea.

Changes
